Founder and owner of the design office “Büro für industrielle Formentwicklung”
Dirk Schumann, born in Soest in 1960, studied product design at Münster University of Applied Sciences. After finishing his studies in 1987, he worked first as an industrial designer at OCO-DESIGN, then in 1989 moved to sieger-design. Until 1991, he was a lecturer of product design at Münster University of Applied Sciences. In 1992, Dirk Schumann founded his own company in Münster under the name “Büro für industrielle Formentwicklung”. His work puts special emphasis on the development of products in the communication, medical technology, research, science, sanitary, living, catering and recreation businesses, as well as products that optimally combine all aspects of aesthetics, manufacturing and economics. Honoured with several awards, Schumann also focuses on conceptual architecture, designing visionary living and housing environments.
