The movement bed was developed in order to prevent pressure ulcers in bed-ridden patients and support their treatment. It automatically transforms the patient’s finest movements – even breathing movements – into micro-fine counter-movements. The two components, the wing suspension system and the mattress, provide a soft and at the same time moving surface for the patient. Painful pressure points are prevented. Nevertheless, patients are not restricted in their freedom of movement. Additionally, the micro-stimulation promotes and retains the user’s own movement. The movement bed can be inserted into any existing bed.
